south porch demos
armed with little more than a 3/4 size yamaha guitar, a notebook and a four track recorder, polimana ventured out to the beautiful lowcountry for a week at south porch artist residency. many long walks with other inspiring resident artists, bathed in the hot, humid breath of the south. exploring the kudzu-lined paths through historic areas and green parks. a heartwarming house show with sweet new friends. regular tick checks. the result: a stripped-back project, featuring sparse guitar and vocals, meditating on grief (its potentiality and inevitability); love, always love; fragility and vulnerability; inherited problems; the shortness of it all and also the length; placehood, presence, seearching for the quality/property/state/?? of home. here's a love letter to mornings and sunny rain
