the other night i saw the body of an opossum on the side of the road as i drove home round 2 in the morning. fresh killed still the memory of life in her eyes. no stars no moon overcast but inky heavens loomed over me. love and loss hung on my shoulders, the weight of night. pulled me into the image, the body, the road. processed it by writing this tune while waiting for an emergency dentist appointment the next morning.
